Talk to Your Account Manager/Account Executive
The first step toward a FareHarbor Site is to talk to your account manager or sales person to see if this option is right for you.
If you’ve already had this conversation and they’ve referred you to this website for more information, move on to the next step!
Site Submission
Once you’ve reviewed this website and determined that a FareHarbor Site is right for you, reach out to your account manager or sales person and they’ll complete a site submission form on your behalf. We use this to collect the initial information we’ll need for your project, including:
- Your company information
- Photos and other assets for your website (Click here for more information on what we recommend for photos.)
- Content for your website (In most cases, we’ll use your current website content, but we may require that you supply additional content if you need new pages built out.)
Collect Additional Details
One of our website project managers will review your submission and reach out to you for any additional information we need. Some common items that we need to collect include:
- Access to your domain registrar (Click here to learn more about why we need this.)
- Photos and other assets (if not previously supplied)
- Access to your Google Analytics account
- Finish building out items on the dashboard
In certain cases, your project manager may request a short phone call to discuss your project. Click here to learn more about our project managers.
-
Crawling your current website for all URLs and collecting any URLs that may need to be redirected before launching the new website.
-
Optimized URL structure according to Google and SEO best practices.
-
Analyzing the keywords that your website is currently ranking for, and putting together keyword suggestions that may improve your search engine rankings going forward.
-
Using keyword research to develop optimized meta data for each page on your website, including title tags, meta descriptions, and page headings to help rank for primary and local keywords.
Site Build
A web designer will begin to design and build your new website! Our web designers have collectively spent hundreds of hours examining websites for tour and activity companies. They’ve seen the best — and the worst. They also draw from industry-specific research regarding best practices, user experience, and optimized booking flow.
Using this knowledge and the content provided, our web designers will create an attractive, conversion-friendly website that is designed to generate online bookings. When the initial build is complete, a member of our copy team will look over the site to check grammar and ensure keywords have been incorporated appropriately.
Site Reveal
Now comes the exciting part — your website is ready to be reviewed! Your project manager will schedule a time to review the new website with you and go over the next steps for getting the site launched.
Feedback
While we actively try to address as many concerns as possible before building the website, we understand we may need to make small tweaks before the final launch.
Our team will work to address these items but makes no promises that we can accommodate all requests due to WordPress theme limitations and design best practices.
Once the site is live, we will provide you with full admin access to the backend of the site as well as some training resources to get started. If you need additional help, we have a dedicated support desk where you can submit tickets after your site has launched. Click here to read more about our WordPress theme limitations.
Site Launch
Our team will redirect any old URLs to maintain search engine rankings, update your name servers, and configure your DNS through our content delivery network Cloudflare to ensure your website is always servable.
We’ll assign a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to the site so your users know it’s safe. We’ll even submit a full sitemap so Google knows to crawl and re-index your website.
Once the site is live on your domain, our quality control team will ensure everything is working correctly, and we’ll supply you with your backend login and some additional resources to get you started.
Now you’re ready to start reaping the benefits of a search-friendly website with an optimized booking flow!
